Hey all.
What's the best way to improve FUNCTIONAL Strength (as Bruce Lee called it). Are weights really necessary? Or can you adequately strengthen yourself with calestenics or ballistics?

body weight exercises, just train.

body weight excersises are rgeat but real power and strength comes from lifting. bruce lee wasnt that strong!

Bruce Lee did work out though to build up his biceps - something that traditional kung fu goes against. The power for a punch comes from the tricep so big biceps, which may look impressive, are actually a hindrance.

Sorry to drag up this old thread but there hasn't been much action in the forum!
