I've not trained with Tito but I've met him at the UFC when it was in London, he's a nice guy, good for the sport it needs characters.

Vitor was promoted by Carlson for marketing purposes for his UFC debut, he was around purple belt. so the rumours say.

Hey, robsco, you should have a bit where everyone puts their belts and achievments etc.

What belt you Andy, purple? (BJJ)

While we're on the subject. Has anyone caught that 'White Collar Boxing' on Bravo? What a laugh that is. There was some gay bloke fighting on there the other night, they called him 'The Pink Pounder', how ironic - it should be 'The BROWN Pounder'.

do start with a white belt in bJJ or do you have to earn it like in TJJ?

Earn a white belt? Are you kidding?

I thought all white belts came with your gi. When i started judo, TJJ, and BJJ i never had to earn my white belt it simply came with my gi. Ive never heard of people earning their white belt in either art neither. Has any1else?

Had this one a while back on here its daft but there is a white belt on most traditional syllabus (think there is even on syllabus on this site). It does come with your Gi and you can wear it but you still have to "do a grading" for it. Some TJJ clubs just give you a stripe on your white to say you passed white grading.

we got a red tab on the belt, and it comes off when you earn it.

grading for white belt is another way to make money, only trust styles were you earn your belt, not pay for it

Andy when you were TJJ how much did you charge for gradings? How much has everyone else had to pay?

£10 per grading, £50 for black cant remember how much for 2nd dan, think the academy paid.

Cost in BJJ £0

In the dojo I train at you must earn your white belt/Gi by demonstrating you can do all the rolls and falls. They dont charge any money for grading just pay for your gi and your $55 monthly dues. Its traditional Ju-Jitsu. We have 4 great instructors and 1 proff.
