It's part of their job to encourage new businesses and commerce into their towns and to serve the taxpayer. If they're not doing that, they're not doing their job. (Ok, I'll climb down off my soapbox now) If your dad feels it might be too expensive to train at a dojo you might really then just go with what he can afford. As long as you're learning something and enjoying yourself it wont be time wasted. I wish I'd taken up a martial art as a kid. I only got into jujitsu to keep fit 3 years ago at the age of 32 but I've been training 2-3 times a week since.:-)

Its a set routine of moves like kicks and blocks you have to do in most traditional martial arts, usually as part of a grading. I personally dont think they are useful but i could be wrong. Know weve had this before but what do people honestly think about Katas? ______________________________

Also, they're a good way to learn the proper mechanics of various blocks and punches. The same blocks and punches that are used, in a more fluid way, in the various techniques that we do.:-)

Its not really a pixie dance i was taking the piss.....
