I am a white belt and 13 yrs old. I have quite slow movement when fighting. I find it difficuilt to block punches in time and toi do very fast punches, can anyone tell me how to improve this. Email me please. Thanx. From Hannah.

don't try and block punches, it doesn't work. as you are finding out.
Use taisabaki instead.

Don't ya just love people who tell you to email them, but forget one small detail.

And being 13 is no excuse!

Just keep drilling techniques, simple.

you'll create too many holes in your game if you use drills.

Like Andy says, move out of the way rather than try to block...holding a defencive guard or parry with your hands & arms whilst doing so. Do not train/drill to any particular response to an attack cause any two attack combinations could be different and you could end up moving onto that knockout punch...instead react to what is presented to you.

The spin off from this approach, i.e. movement off the attack, will also give you more time and edge in returning counter punches, cause firstly you will not be where the attacker expected you to be, and secondly with clever movement you will open up counter attacking options and give your body correct positioning to develop power via 'torquing' action through your legs, hips waist & shoulders.

All sounds a bit technical, but watch a couple of good lightweight or middleweight boxers, or even Tyson at heavyweight, and you will understand what I mean.

blokcing punches does work, just not in a gay ass fag way that steve talks about, basic covering is cool.

I've only been doing this for 35 years so I could be wrong, but it seems to me that my speed improved when I practiced the following things: 1. Concentrate on staying relaxed until point of impact with all strikes...get to where you can repeat this more and more rapidly. 2. Concentrate and "see" your hand/foot at the target. 3. Practice daily and set goals. 4. You're young and new at this...be patient.
