Nice site. How refreshing to find a martial art program that doesn't waste time denigrating other forms or arts, but puts forth the effort to improve the practitioner without regard to personality cults and system founders. I earned my Shodan at Camp Lejeune in 1961, and was promoted to Nidan at the Kodokan in 1963. In 1967 (maybe `68) the great Ishikawa, who fought Kimura---the guy who dislocated Helio Gracie's elbow--- to a draw promoted me to Sandan at Virginia Beach. Fought my last contest in 1975. Won it and retired. Judoka and Jujitsuka of today are stronger players in almost every way than in my day.
