Hello Everyone,

I have been reading this forum for a month now and I find it pretty informative. I'm 36 living in the states. I have a good background in kung fu and a very strong foundation in amature wrestling, so BJJ seemed like the most logical step to follow. I've been training for a month now in a pretty good center and have been really impressed with the techniques so far. My biggest problem has been with the pace. My wrestling background tells me to hit every move at 100 mph, but that is not what BJJ is all about. I just need to slow down. I was wondering if there were any other suggestions for the novice that may help ease my transition.

Thanks in advance,
The Stompa

Just relax and concentrate more on your breathing, that should hopefully slow you down a little.

If you're like a raving lunatic you'll get tapped everytime, your opponents will just mess with ya until you're tired, then take the easy submission.

Don't worry about Andy, you'll get used to him after a while.
