Oh dear. I didn't think it would be that bad. Although it was a good fight in someways, that dominance on the ground had to be embarrasing. Anyone want to argue about that fight?

Well it certainly wasn't what I was expecting.

Never thought I'd see Royce give his back on the ground and get the fight stopped.

A shocking fight really.

Yeah right, like Royce is gonna tap! :-))

You'd have to literally pull his arm off and wave it around in the air, even then it'd prob take the ref to stop it! :-|

As much as I admire Royce, he never had a significant chance against someone as good as Matt Hughes, and I'm not sure why he thought he did. I hope he fights in the UFC again, but he should be more realistic.

true...Hughes was just so dominant it makes me wonder if st. Pierre can actually pull of a victory. I think Royce's biggest mistake was to try and pull guard in such a strange way...thats how matt got side control.

True, i was a bit surprised to see Royce dominated so much on the ground and not able to get out of side-control.

Maybe he's been working and concentrating on his stand-up game too much?

It looked very strange. There was little hip escape, he didn't seem to try to get his knee inside to get back to guard, he didn't even stop Hughes escaping half guard, twice!

yeah but even if he had been working on his stand up... jiu jitsu should be instinctive for him shouldnt it???

I cant believe he took his back and he couldnt get out of side control..... shocked gutted and disapointed!

Did anyone see Royce losing this way?

Imagine the alternative ending ..... Matt slaps on a Rear Naked.. and puts him out cold.

There was a few tense moments I remember thinking Matt was gonna get the choke on. :-|

It was awkward on the feet, but it wasnt a horrible fight in terms of action...more of a dominant or "one sided" fight than anything else.

Yes it was if you were hoping Royce could pull one off...but he just got dominated, he seemed way too lathargic to me. Btw...there is a very buzzy rumor going around now that Rickson will fight Sakuraba finally! Who knows what?

Win, lose, or draw, for 1.2 million I'd fight Matt Hughes!

Okay, so maybe the viewing figures might not be so high.
