What's the best thing to do when you have somebody in your gaurd, and they straighten their back and sit back on their heels? (kind of like Seiza in Karate) I know what they expose themselves to when they ride forward in your guard, or shrimp when they try and pass it, but what techniques are availible to you when they just sit back, like they're taking their time?

Ok, let's say that you want to sweep him to your left.
Sit up and establish your base with your left hand on the ground (or left elbow). Control tightly his right elbow (with your free arm, above is right elbow) by holding him very close to you as if he was embracing you. After that, uncross your feet and put them on the floor, now make a kind of bridge to your left, make a kick with your right foot and pull with your right arm to your "back-left". You finish the mouvement in mounted position.

hope this help ;)
