I have a tournament coming up in a month or so and the upper ranked dans get to demonstrate some skills. I was thinking about breaking a baseball bat with my shin. I've got fairly conditioned shins, but I'm wondering if anyone here has ever done it? What's the best type of bat?

it would be impressive and a little different if you used a metal bat

i think you will find you are far better off with heavy bag training as this will condition your shins just as well

the darkside is more fun

i have heard that muay thai fighters used to use heated glass bottles rolled on their shins to deaden the nerves and sensitivity. While this may be good in the short term, it hardly promotes longevity
