Achilles lock

Do they really work against real martial artists. I've never used one, but I've seen them in MMA and had one pulled on me the other day as I tried for a knee bar. I didn't tap out and I've never seen anyone else either. It stalled us, and it hurt, but not very badly. Did he just do it wrong? Has anyone here ever tapped because of one?

They definately work, let's face it, they wouldn't be around if they didn't.

It is sometimes a tricky one to pull off, but when you do, or rather when THEY do, you'll know about it.

A heel hook will also give you that nice popping sound and a ripped up ankle.
